Choosing carpet

For this post you will have to close your eyes and imagine the scene, after reading it of course!  I have yet to find my camera and this was one of those moments you say to yourself,  "I wish I had my camera."
As most of you who read this know we've moved in with my mom and dad.  It's been a slow going process, and every decision has met with a disaster or a roadblock of some kind.  Today was no exception.  Mom and I had looked at some carpet samples at an Rc Willey in town a few weeks back because we were IN TOWN, we took the samples home but decided none of them matched the paint...so we had my dad drop of the samples to the cranky lady who helped us the previous day.  When my dad dropped the samples off the lady had asked him if we needed him to come out and measure, he called my mom and she thought sure why not.
The guy came, was here not 10 minutes and left.
The following  Friday, the lot of us--mom, dad, Jake, Corby, Carson and I-- we decided to drive into the RC Willey in West Valley.... Hang in with me I'm gettin to the part where I'm in need of my camera--We go back to the carpet area and the salesman asks,"How can I help you?"  We explain we are finishing the basement and we want a carpet that will withstand an almost two year old and we point to Carson and he flashes his killer smile and says hi.  The salesman says hi and explains that we will want a flecked carpet, so that if things do get spilled it won't be noticable right away...so then he asks about our paint choices and he pulls a few out.  Corby bends down and says, "So Cars, what do you think?" and no joke he shook his head no.
Then with the next one he puts one on the floor and Carson sits on it and then lays backs, wiggles
around, sighs and smiles.  That was my need my camera moment.  It was classic!  By the way, that was the carpet we all decided we liked and chose for the final purchase.

The Joy of a new baby

The Packard/Harrison clan grew by two feet on July 20th, Zayne Michael Harrison surprised us all by coming after a week of fun planned by his grandma Char- he missed going to the zoo to see The Rocky Shores with this Big Brother and cousin Carson and to see the broadway play Wicked  , where everything makes sense in the Wizard of Oz if you see that first.  I think Zayne was just tired of missing out and wanted to join the fun, so the following day he woke his mama up for an early morning trip to the hospital and by 11:30 a.m. was here to join the human race and has since then brought nothing but joy to our lives.

He is small 6 lbs. 4 oz at birth, but Small babies are also mighty--my little one was smaller than Zayne and he's almost 2!
